Film 6 'Pan's Labyrinth' IMDB No. 75

2006 Fantasy masterpiece. Spanish with subtitles.

I had no idea what to expect with this one, I purposfully didn't read anything about it, I hadn't heard of it until I went through the list.
Set in 1944 Spain, the film seamlessly intertwines the fantasy world of a young girl, Ofelia, and the real world of the Spanish cival war. I don't want to give too much away about the film plot.
The fantasy scenes are dark and frightnening, the real world brutal and real, the sadistic Captain played by Sergi Lopez is great. This is not a kids film.
I'll give it 7.5/10
